My experiences of nearly 20 years working within Fortune 50, 15 years serving non-profits at the board level, and 10 years as an entrepreneur, have taught some invaluable lessons. Primarily that people thrust into leadership positions don't always have the skills to effectively lead and develop other leaders. Leading a team takes a different set of skills than simply managing a team.
